watt plaza
century city, ca
The office plaza renovation for the 22 story high rise began with several concepts of how to take
an outdated, under-used and uninviting plaza and create a dynamic, usuable outdoor space for the tenants of 1875 Century Park East. The Gold Certified LEED project was constructed above an
existing parking garage creating a 50,000 sf. green roof plaza. The design incorporates several
outdoor seating areas as well as an granite and porphyry water feature that creates a new identity for Watt Plaza. The project also integrates
sustainable concepts such as filtering storm water runoff and using low voltage and indirect lighting fixtures.
los robles hospital
thousand oaks, ca
Los Robles Hospital underwent a major expansion in 2011 with an addition of a fourth floor. A new formal drive entry was designed for emergency and patient drop off along with an open-air courtyard for relaxation and interaction with planting materials which were selected for their therapeutic aromas.
the arbors
thousand oaks, ca
The Arbors is a three-building suburban office campus located in the Conejo Valley. The owners wanted an entertainment area for their tenants to enjoy and converse. James Dean designed a deck area with Bocce Ball and conversation areas, a firepit with seating, an outdoor kitchen and a new structure built within existing grand California Sycamores. The columns were meant to mimic the gray Sycamore trunks.
