James Dean Landscape Architecture is unique in their project experience. The firm has been in practice for more than 50 years from their office located in Thousand Oaks, California. They offer extensive landscape architecture services that range from commercial centers to high-end residential and have accomplished many award-winning designs for civic centers, public parks, commercial entertainment centers, hotels, public and private schools. The firm’s owner, James Dean, chooses to remain a small boutique firm in order to personally serve each project and mentor other inspiring landscape architects.
In addition to being a landscape architect, James Dean is also a well-known arborist that has been involved in oak tree preservation throughout southern California. He has been an oak tree consultant to the cities of Santa Clarita, Calabasas and Agoura Hills and is noted as one of the author’s and manager of the Ben Johnson's scientific study on oak trees concerning construction injury which was published by United States Forest Service in 1979. He was also one of the consultants to the Prudential Insurance Company in the development of the North Ranch community of Thousand Oaks. For protected trees being impacted from construction or pruning, his preparation of tree reports is crucial to the public agencies for approval and mitigation.
