James Dean Design's latest office building renovation has been underway for the past month.  This week the project is setting precendence for the City of Thousand Oaks by installing the city's first storm water infiltration parking lot drainage channel.  The existing parking lot configurations had limited to ability for standard water infiltration techniques.  James Dean Design has been overseeing the construction of the new permeable storm water and is thrilled with the results.  The new permable surface will collect all  the water runoff from the parking lot and filter it through layers of sand and aggregate before it reaches the city's storm water drainage system.  This system will not only help keep the pollutants from entering into nearby arroyos and streams but it will also help replenish local groundwater supplies.  This project will be setting the standard for storm water management for all new commercial building renovations in Thousand Oaks.
